Every time and with every single canvas, I embark on a journey – a captivating exploration of the unknown artistic realm, clearly as being in a state of “Suspended Animation”. In all the vibrant hues that dance across the canvas, I find myself entwined in a profound tapestry of political, social and personal narratives which unfurl with an unabashed abandon. There seems to be an almost desperate desire to encapsulate the human experience, collective as well as individual and terribly personal. For the viewer, it also results in a state of “suspended animation” for that brief time, until the onlooker breathes again and moves on to another canvas...and so the process begins anew.

I do not take the process lightly, for I find that every stroke is imbued with deliberate intent, concealing layers of meaning that (hopefully) beckon the viewer to delve deeper. Through the rich interplay of colours, I attempt to navigate the intricate landscape of emotions and ideas, passions, beliefs and ideologies, blending the philosophical with the tangible.

I like my paintings to serve as visual metaphors, transcending the ordinary to provoke contemplation on issues that shape (or misshape) our world. I would like to think that my work is rooted in thought and hopefully possesses a certain accessibility, inviting both seasoned art enthusiasts as well as the uninitiated to partake in the experience.

The fusion of aesthetic allure and a certain degree of intellectual depth is important to me, culminating in a synergy where art becomes a conduit for dialogue and introspection. Each piece, for me, is a carefully curated narrative, inviting viewers to decipher the hidden meanings and embark on their own journey of interpretation.

In a world saturated with visual stimuli, I would like to play my part through the making of art which serves as a beacon of thought-provoking visuals, challenging conventions and prompting reflection. The fact that I choose to give each piece a title, is testimony to the fact that I want every viewer to actually think of how to interpret it in the light of his/her own experiences, thoughts and beliefs. It is an open invitation to immerse oneself in the vivid hues and intricate compositions that promise to take one on a visual odyssey, transcending the boundaries of traditional art, forging a connection between the canvas and the complexities of the human psyche.
